Funding Opportunities

Organisers of MATRIX programs are encouraged to supplement the funding from MATRIX by applying for the following schemes:

• International academics may be eligible for funding from the University of Sydney Mathematical Research Institute (SMRI) as part of their International Visitor Program.

• AustMS has a number of travel grants available for Australian mathematicians to attend MATRIX workshops/programs.

• The AustMS WIMSIG Anne Penfold Street Awards provide additional financial support to Australian mathematicians for their caring responsibilities, while they travel for conferences or research visits to collaborators.

• AMSI and AustMS provide funding for workshops embedded within a MATRIX program.

• ANZIAM-MATRIX Support Scheme supports a MATRIX research program that is organised by at least two ANZIAM members.
• The European Maths Society offers travel grants to young mathematicians to attend programs in countries other than Europe.
