     8:00 am - 5:00 pm

Organisers:
Wael Bahsoun (Loughborough University)
Meagan Carney (University of Queensland)
Gary Froyland (University of New South Wales)
Cecilia Gonzalez-Tokman (University of Queensland)

Program Description:

This event will bring together leading Australian and international experts in Dynamical Systems and Ergodic Theory for a research-intensive program to study statistical properties, extreme events, operator theoretic numerics and their interactions in the context of chaotic dynamical systems. The main aim of the workshop is to develop new insights and ideas towards the resolution of challenging open problems in these areas, in a collaborative and stimulating environment. Such insights are expected to be both theoretical and numerical, and in part geared towards application to real-world phenomena, e.g. around extreme weather events and transport in geophysical. The workshop will feature research mini-courses, presentations by experts and plenty of time for informal discussion and collaborations among workshop participants, which include world experts and early career researchers in pure, applied and computational dynamical systems.
